GPS on cell phones are not perfect

While on our vacation to see the Biltmore House, my husband used his GPS on the Highway and within Asheville NC to look for restaurants. I will just say that the GPS acted freaky many times. I will give one example. We wanted to go to a particular restaurant that was in walking distance of the town square of where we were walking. We got turned around, we got a little lost. So, my husband typed in the address of the restaurant we had seen online , and because we were in the opposite direction of the restaurant, that confused the GPS and it was sending us on a wild goose chase. When we finally , on our own, found the right direction to the place, the GPS then corrected itself. This is what I thought and told my husband, if GPS systems were perfect like they should be,, a person could be completely lost, type in the address of where they want to go, and the GPS would guide them correctly no matter how lost the person is. Do you understand what I am saying?

Yes, it happens sometimes and it is annoying, too. Sometimes I prefer to use the map, write the direction in a paper before traveling.

That is what I told my husband, "next trip, we use a paper map, write down the directions".

@LeaPea2417 good. He can still use the GPS and have the written down directions on a piece of paper just in case you use it.

Yes I do. GPS will tell people that our address is in the field next to us.
