Health Update...

I have no idea why I am waiting to share the really big news, but it just does not seem to be the right timing. With this being said... I do want to share that even though I am still fighting post-op gallbladder issues after my surgery last December, which has me concerned...my heart on the other hand has improved. For those who do not know, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure about 5 or 6 years ago. (Can't remember exact date.) Even though my heart has failed twice since the original diagnosis, I have worked hard to follow doctors orders by taking my medication, doing walking for exercise, and losing 23 pounds. When I was first diagnosed my ejection fraction was only at 20%. A normal percentage runs between 60% and 70%... Anything under 30% is considered critical. It has fluxuated a few times over the last few years, but it has been holding steady at 35%, for the last couple of years. Since I moved back to Florida, and got a roof over my head; I have been able to stabilize my health, except with the above mentioned... I had an ultrasound done on my heart last month, and I am happy to report that my ejection fraction has risen to 45%. I was ecstatic!!! I was told that my diligent daily walks, taking my medications as prescribed, and getting 23 pounds off of me, played a huge roll in the improvement of the blood flow to my heart. Of course I must give Jesus credit too.

Glad to hear you are doing so well and that the Lord is with you. My friend is not so lucky. She also got her gallbladder out last August, then had intestinal problems, and also has problems with her heart. She is skinny as a reed but cannot get back on her feet and to her problems, prolapse was added. Now the docs say she'll eventually need heart surgery and corrective surgery.
