One of electric fan accidentally fell down when my son pull the extension cord where the fan is also plug in. He did not know that it was plug there too. When he pulled it, the fan fell down the floor and the blade broke. The blade was made of plastic material.
I checked it and it is still working except that there is no blade. Uncalled for accident when it is actually very hot and the fan is a necessity. It is a good thing that there is a nearby repair shop here that also sells the blade. So hopefully I can buy a new one for this.
How do manage the heat/cold when you fan/ac/heater breaks down?

No problem. We use a homemade fan made of cardboard or carton. Or we go to the nearby river to take a bath, or spend time window shopping to a mall whete it is fully air conditioned.

@rakski We do have. It's somewhere in the mountain. It's surrounded with big trees.

i'm glad he wasn't hurt and nothing else was broken.
in our case, the motor of one of our fans had to be changed.

@rakski yeah, when we had it fixed, he said it was starting to smell when he would turn it on to check the motor so it was really time to replace it.

@hereandthere In that case, buying a new one is the only option

I have ceiling fans in nearly every room, plus AC and a floor fan, so I am unlikely to be without cooling for too long. I schedule an appointment though as soon as I can, so I can get my AC fixed if it is not working.

@rakski in my case in times of no one to fix it yet I might buy a new one, then have it fix the next day. in some cases if blades are available why not.

I broke a lot of electric fan blades and even my daughters did it accidentally. I think I have four fans in the house with broken blades. I've been planning to have it replaced. I saw, a stall in our town selling electric fan blades however they don't have the design that I want and most of the time their stock doesn't fit.
I fear that my husband might throw the fan since its taking up a lot of space. Got a plan B though, I am thinking of having it sold to a junk shop or give it to my relatives and have them changed the blades for the fan to work.

You may find it funny but I occasionally like it when I sweat - less load on the kidneys (lol)

It could really be so hot when there's no electric fan or aircon. It's good there's a repair shop near you.

If AC fails, fan works...
