A most excellent day!

One of my old friends is currently in the situation where she can get contract work for a set period and then take a break before looking for another contract. Since the sort of work she does pays pretty well, she can enjoy regular breaks. Last week she got in touch to say she was between jobs and suggested we meet, so we became one of those ‘ladies who lunch’ – we met for coffee and cake at a canal-side café, then visited nearby gardens and enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sunshine, it was a lovely outing. I left just in time to do some quick shopping then got back with 5 minutes to spare to meet Little One from school. Later in the evening I was out again at the theatre with a different friend; it was only a short performance so we were able to go for a meal afterwards at a very nice Thai restaurant.
