Earth to Idiots, There is NO Such Thing as a National Popular Vote in US Elections.

The state of Nevada (and several other states) are working hard to completely silence the voice of their citizens in presidential elections. They want to change the election laws in their states to make it so their electoral votes automatically go to the candidate with the most votes from the national vote count.
The first problem with this crap is, that means the votes cast for president in those states will be meaningless. They won't effect the outcome of the election in the least. So why would these state governments silence the voice of their people?
The next problem is, there is no such thing as a national popular vote in the US. At no time are the votes tallied from each state and territory certified as a whole. In fact, we don't even have a national election to count them.
The election results we see on Nov evening after the polls close are just projections based on exist polling. The actual count of the votes is made official after the state certifies their election. The House of Representatives then collects the vote counts. In December the Electoral College meets to cast the official ballots for each state.
Under these new laws, there would be no way to certify the state elections because there wouldn't be an official count of all the ballots in the country. So they are saying that their Electors would be required to cast their EC votes according to an unofficial, uncertified number of votes that may or may not have anything to do with how the people of their state voted.
There is no integrity in this new plan, there is less integrity in the criminals who are pushing for it to pass. They are tyrants counting on the utter ignorance of citizens who really don't give a crap about freedom or their right to vote.
The Nevada Senate votes to end the electoral college system ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

By going that route, California controls the country with the biggest block vote of Dem voters. People who scream Clinton won the popular vote should realize that was because of the California vote. Subtract that vote and she lost on that front also. So if you want California, Illinois and New York controlling you, go for it. Another Democrat plot at work. If anything, the electoral vote and primary election results should be proportionate not winner take all. Right now win by a single vote in California, you win the big prize which is not truly reflective of the people. The Republicans in California (30% of those registered to vote) don't bother to vote in presidential elections knowing their vote is meaningless in the most dominate blue state in the country.

It's winner take all because each state is a separate election. My vote in Wisconsin has absolutely no bearing on your vote in California because they are two different elections. Decentralization of elections is an important part of election integrity. The EC not only ensures that large cities don't control everything, it also recognizes the voice of both the people and the states in choosing the president. Since the POTUS is the only office that represents the entire country, it is important for both the states and the people to be part of the process. Silencing the voice of one is just as tyrannical as silencing the voice of the other.

It's simply state governments working to silence the voice of the people. Of course, doing away with the EC would be the people silencing the voice of the states. Both are anti Constitution and tyrannical.
