I was aware, as I am now more than ever, that this will be the last time I see my aunt alive. She has been in bed for over 2 weeks now and her pain is bigger from day to day even if it is kept under control with meds that will be stronger as the pain gets worse. I was very sad to see her although she is still her usual sunny self. her son, my cousin, irritated me although I said nothing. He had a list of things she should not eat as they were bad for cancer patients. I don´t know where he got that, but clearly the list is not for a terminally ill patient of over 90 years of age with cancer. So I bought her a delicious piece of cake and I sent it with Juanita. She will give it to her when Carlos is not there. I had already talked to my aunt and she had told me about some extra meds that Carlos wanted to give her. She said by no means. Enough was enough. We were both happy to see each other. And I invited Juanita for our capuchino with a piece of cake after she arranged as much as she could the mess in my hair that the beautician in Santiago had made. There I told her that whatever she needed, she just had to call.
