What to do, what to do! What a waste!

Been domestic three decades now and yet when the clutter accumulates, always I am at a loss. Still couldn't understand how three grown women could turn a fairly decent dining room into a wreck room. The dining table was flashed to a wall, and tv was set on it. A cot bed was installed beside the old rattan sofa, and now, it's the wreck bed. Sigh. Shoe boxes are on the working table, mayo bottles on the old shelf, and lots and lots of folded brown bags in hampers, I wouldn't know what to do. I don't want to add up to that garbage problem the human inhabitants of this planet has so irresponsibly mismanaged. Currently, those seemingly arrogant rich countries have dumped container loads of garbage in our Misamis, a province clean and green. Hmmpph. How dare they!. Thing is, the accumulation of junk seems a domestic problem. I do my best at recycling but I do believe the problem begins with packaging of products. We do not need too much plastic and paper boards to wrap up our goods. We simply have to think simple and bring our own food keepers in the supermarkets. If this discussion is coherent at all.... sigh. Who can think right when there's so much garbage in my mind.

i got your point, and your point is my issue as well. I don't understand why this little cookie should be in a beautiful plastic package when after we eat it, the package will just be thrown in the garbage, my house is also accumulating recyclables already...argh!

Yup. My daughters and I are practicing now the zero-waste suggestion that we don't patronize products that generate environmental wastes. We bring our own spoon and fork even in restaurants. We decline food offered in styropor and the like. We don't buy chips any longer. Besides, these chips are detrimental to the health, As for cookies and pies, we buy these from bakeries. Freshly baked, Yum.

@Mavic123456 Yes, that's the way to solve the environmental problem . We begin with our selves, then show others by example. Yay. Kudos to you.

@eileenleyva we also don't buy much of the products with elegant packaging that after one use no choice but to throw. We also don't eat in styroform (as much as possible) because recycling it is useless.

In my city we have beautiful beaches contaminated with domestic waste. They are no longer beaches we are proud of.

I am really concerned about the news about the natural calamities that hit your country. Foremost is the liquefaction that buried villages. I really hope that the people get their act together and clean the beaches. The environment is so important for our existence.

Perhaps a large garbage bin to throw it all in and then someone to haul it away?

Yup, we do have garbage collection three times a week. Thing is, the garbage is disposed in a land fill in the mountains. The garbage is not segregated. People are so indolent. My biodegradable garbage are buried in my backyard. These become fertilizers in two weeks.

My daughter washes each plastic and straw that come our way. I fold and keep and wait for the recycling lady to collect my recyclables.
