Continuing on with my book thread, I was wondering if you had a favorite author of all time? Or perhaps you have several authors that you enjoy reading their books?
I would have to say my favorite author is Eugenia Price. She wrote historical fiction and Christian non-fiction books. Her historical fiction novels were based on the South and most during and after the Civil War Era. Price has several trilogies published that involve the same family and their relations, who were located in other southern areas such as St. Simons Island.
Mrs. Price passed away in 1996 but left behind a beautiful legacy in her books.
I was lucky enough to meet one of her nieces online through my writing community. This young lady told me that her aunt was a very sweet lady and adored by all that knew her.
Who is your favorite author? What genre do they normally write in? Why are they your favorite?

I have a full shelf devoted to Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins Left Behind series, and Frank Peretti both Christian authors. I've also read Tracy Peterson and Francine Rivers. Left Behind is end times fiction based on Revelation. Frank Peretti writes Christian thriller fiction, Tracy Peterson's novels are historical, and Francine Rivers is contemporary Christian fiction.

I have never read her books. Ruby mentioned someone I like is Anne Perry. I also like Tolkien. I am reading the Hobbit now and finished The two Towers and need to read one and three and Heather Graham is good and I love Faye Kellerman. I do not like her husband's books. I like Ken Follett. There are more, but, I think that is enough right now.

I can't name one because of the reading, but Tolkien is probably the one that has written books that has influenced my life the most. I started posting on an internet board when they started talking about filming LOTR, it's a bit more than 20 years ago, isn't it? Since then I've met lot of people and made some really good friends around the world, travelled here and there with them and we still meet every year before Christmas in London. I do like his books, but they lead to so much more.

@kareng I have read the books more times then I've seen the movies, but I like books. There are some scenes I don't like, but I think they've kind of became another version for me. Not a movie version of the books, but a different way of telling nearly the same story
