How ready for Christmas are you?

I'm almost done shopping for my kids, but I still have quite a few other people to buy things for. All of the decorations are up both inside and outside the house. At least I feel "prepared" in that aspect! Now if only I could get all of my shopping done! Oh, then there's the wrapping!! I always used to be done before Thanksgiving.

I'm not ready at all. I'm ill-prepared as usual. The past few years I have waited until the last minute to finish up my shopping. It does make it a little exciting, though. I've been making fudge and cleaning up to decorate, but haven't wrapped the first present. I'm so bad!

In past years, I was a big shopper and a big giver. I love to see people react. This year, things are bad. We are getting food from a foodbank instead of going to the grocery store. We are so far in debt we are literally drowning in debt. No tree...no pile of gifts...dinner from the food bank stash.
But Christmas is about love. We received the greatest gift of all on the first Christmas. It's not the material things that matter. If they did, Jesus would have been born to a rich princess and her prince. Instead the Prince of Peace was born to a poor girl engaged to a carpenter. The birth of the Great Shepherd was announced first to shepherds in a field...not to dignataries in town buildings.
I might be not so well off this year, but in my heart I am rich. I have a wonderful family and a roof over my head and God provides what we need to keep going. God is ALWAYS good and wise. Thank you, God, for reminding us that Christmas is not about STUFF...

well all my decoration are up. and i have every thing that i have bought so far wrapped BUTTT i have a lot more to buy. its nice having a big family but it sucks at Christmas time when i have to buy all this stuff. i normally buy just for the kids and give the adults some thing. this year the adults are getting a home made receipe book. i have a lot of time on my hands waiting on the baby (due in 13 days)

I'm totally finished shopping. I just have to finish decorating. My Christmas cards will be mailed out on December 1st (as always). I just need to finish wrapping (though about half of it is already finished). I guess I am in great shape. I am just late with the decorating this year as we had some unexpected things come up.
