How do you feel when you have a migraine headache?

I have never had one last that long. I usually lose about a day. I get sick to my stomach, can't stand light or movement of any kind. I HATE them, and dread the next time I get one. I would do anything to avoid ever having another one!

When I have a migraine, I have severe dizzy spells for days before. That's how I know it is coming. The dizzy spells are very annoying but there is no pain. But they do interfere with my concentration and being able to do anything. Once the pain hits I have to take something, usually a combination of acetominaphen, ibuprofen and codeine. My doctor told me how to do this safely...don't do it without a doctor. I also find if I just lie down in a dark room and sleep with maybe my MagicSac all cold on my head, that is very soothing. Migraines just take time. One time I had one that lasted about 2 weeks. It was exhausting, it switched back and forth between the dizzy spells and the pain.
