'Not Being Told to Do So'

A statement that has molded me to be a better man and led me to my success in life. This is the forerunner of why I am today. This is initiative I am holding on whatever the situations or occasions and wherever I am be at home, school, office or anywhere. This is one of the comments in my report card by my grade 1 teacher. She wrote, "working without being told to do so." I read it several times but I couldn't get it. I couldn't understand it. That's 53 years ago. I do still remember it. There is one occasion that my late grade 1 teacher tapped me on my head gently and praised me for my initiative of doing things inside the classroom, which my classmates failed to work on it unless they're commanded to do so. "Initiave is doing the right thing without being told." Initiative has given the sincere appreciation from my friends, co-workers, supervisors, my parents and from any person in the community where I live in. I am so thanful that I do have attribute or desire that leads me to the success I have had and a kind of person of what I am today. I know you may have this too. It is within you unless you use it.
