Music countdown time! This is one I’ve been kicking around for some time, and I finally finished the lists. This time around, I’m celebrating radio. Those of us who are older remember the joys of turning on a radio station to hear amazing diversity in music. Today? You get the same 120 songs from the same 35 acts. There are two parts of this countdown. One features songs that have the word radio in the title. The other are songs that have radio or DJs as the star of the song. You’ll see what I mean as that progresses. Much to NJ Chic’s dismay there will be no “Spirit of the Radio” by Rush. (Fear not, her “other” favorite band will show up, sans static, on the countdown.) Tune in for our next big countdown! Here’s new Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Ray Stevens, doing a 1972 cover of a song that Roy Acuff did back in the 40s:
