Hi, hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It's been a little while since I published an update on my #20Resolutions project here (I did post one on Persona Paper in the interim), so here goes: Last update, my "score" was at: 1. 2 books read 2. 0 weight lost 3. 8 items culled from my wardrobe 4. 3 sketchbook drawings 5. level 18 in Spanish 6. level 16 in French 7. 2 blog posts written 8. 1 art project completed 9. 2 scarves knitted 10. 4 letters written 11. 5 web articles written 12. 2 Etsy listings made 13. 0 eBay listings made 14. 5 charitable contributions made 15. 3 items removed from garage 16. 5 weeks of 20+ miles walked 17. 3 new friends made 18. 2 new places visited 19. 0 poems written 20. 1 beautiful photo taken I still seem to be stuck in the mud as far as weight loss, making eBay listings, and writing poems, continuing to report zero in those three categories. In addition, I made no progress with reading books, finishing art projects, knitting, and making Etsy listings, which remain the same as last time. Mileage is now a mixed bag--I've done a full eight weeks of consistently walking more than 20 miles, but alas--two weeks ago, I messed up and only logged 19.6. However, I have edged up a bit in several categories and a LOT in a few more. I even hit the big time--the 20 goal--in one category and shut it down. The small improvements, first: I culled one more item from my wardrobe and took the items I have culled so far, along with some other donations, to a local thrift shop that supports women who are in recovery from addiction, so that also means I made another charitable contribution, as well. I finished another drawing in my sketchbook, which I have pictured, above--a portrait of the character Daenerys Targaryen from the TV show Game of Thrones, which ended recently. As fits her names Daenerys Stormborn and Mother of Dragons, I included a stormy background and gave her dragon wings, as you can see. I also wrote one more letter, made one more blog post, and got one more item out of my garage, a touristy tee shirt from Myrtle Beach that my husband received as a gift from a coworker. Neither of us has ever worn it, nor desires to, so it will be donated to charity, but I won't count it as a credit on my wardrobe cull, seeing as I never added it to my wardrobe in the first place! Making a little more progress with beautiful photos--I added two new ones--and with French--I advanced two levels, from 16 to 18. Level 20 is definitely within sight! And this article makes my 7th, up two from last report. I did even better with new places, visiting three additional ones, and with making new friends, adding a whopping six new friends in the past three weeks. Now, as promised, I am happy to report that I have achieved my first "20 goal"--I reached Level 20 in Spanish on Duolingo. I am not done with Spanish by a long shot--I have plenty of learning and practice to go before I am fluent. But I'm so happy to say that I have locked one of my goals down, now. I will now remove Goal #5 from the list, and redouble my efforts on the remaining 19.

Good job, Ali. Have you ever done illustrations for other people?

Thanks! Sure, I have done quite a lot of freelance work. My main area of concentration is portraiture, though--I've filled hundreds of portrait commissions over the years.

@AliCanary I need someone to illustrate a children's book; but I know the cost is going to be prohibitive.

@LindaOHio - You could probably find some nice free-use images that would work!
