Records and Other Old Recordings

Do you remember the 45 rpm records shown above? Do you remember the little plastic inserts that would go in the center so that you could play it on the record player? What about 78 rpm, 33-1/3 rpm, tape decks, cassettes, 8-track? It's amazing how much music has changed over the years. Now vinyl records are making a comeback because fans claim that the sound is better than a CD. What do you think? Photo is from Pixabay.

I do remember those little plastic disks. Do you remember some kind of tall round thing that you could put in the middle of the record player and stack the 45's on that instead of each record having its own disk?

@myklj999 JJ, I should have known you'd know what I was talking about. Does it hold the records on top, then automatically lets one drop down?

@myklj999 I hadn't remembered that thing until LindaO wrote about old records. Wonder what else is lurking in my mind?

Yes, I have got at least hundreds of $% RPM records and another few hundreds of 78 rpm old Gramophone records and 331/3 RPM records with me! I have got audio cassettes, Stereo decks and Spool tapes also. I have got some Grundig Record Changers! I love to spend some time with these equipment even today!

We tried telling them that 35 years ago when they started taking albums away in favor of just CDs or cassettes.
