Venting

I need to vent. There is going to be an "I" throughout this this discussion, so bare with me. I just read an e-mail newsletter from Self magazine. Not sure if I feel better or worse. All about burnout. Since the on-line women's magazine I had written for has been shut down, it is really not like I have an important job... just side hustles making pennies at a time. Attempting to make payout is so stressful. I am poor. See? I am tossing around an idea in my head to create an account with cambly.com to work as a tutor in conversational English. But, I am scared that I am not smart enough. Am I? My roommates have tempers. Period. I love them, but constantly attempting to please them is stress upon stress. I handed in a volunteer application at my local library. The head librarian told me that I could work one day a week starting in the fall. I was hoping for more. Also, I am hoping that I may be a possible shoe-in if a paid position is open in the future. When I do have the one day a week working as a volunteer, a friend could possible drive me there. I have no transportation. But, if I end up getting a paid position, I might be able to afford public transportation. I guess we shall see as is very expensive. I would love to be able to just lounge in my house in my nightgown sipping some iced coffee without a care in the world. A husband to love and protect me. Reality though? No man is ever going to take care of me. I am tired of hearing from people that I am going to find a man one day. Be real. No body loves me. So, this is my venting. No need to worry. I am used to being alone. photo by pixabay

I hope you find a job you love. Meanwhile, My side hustle is mystery shopping. But a person can make a living at it. At the bottom of this site is a list of legitimate mystery shopping companies.

It’s important to vent and not bottle things up. Hopefully, you can get a job in conversational English or eventually at the library. It’s always a good idea to show your face when you can to the powers that be and often. Good luck and keep us posted.

What do you mean by "showing my face to the powers that be"? You lost me...

@Spontaneo If you fill out an application for a job, stop by often to let them get used to your name and associate it with your face. In other words, don’t let your applications get buried in a pile with others. That’s one of the ways to be successful in getting a job.

@DianneN Oh, we know each other. We even joke around with each other. So, I have that part covered... Thank you for the tip though!

You are really in a stressed situation right now. You need to relax and sort out your thoughts before seriously planning your move. Walk round the block, Look at the canopies, Feel the sun, Watch the people. Smell the flowers. Room mates can be peeves, the familiarity already bred the contempt. Talk less and savor the silence you can find in your alone moments. Pray. It is always effective to vent out our pains to our God. He listens. Then, check out your real interests and passion. Going through grammar and spelling could be stressful for you, so rule out tutoring conversational English. Passion is really something you really like doing, When you pursue that, you will never work in your life. Money would come without you even realizing, because you would be enjoying your self. Wishing you a serene time.

@Spontaneo Grammar is required even in conversational English. That entails study. If teaching English is truly your passion, then, you must find the pleasure of teaching the grammar and the spelling. I wish you well,

Everyone needs to vent on occasion. I hope you can get the job in conversational English. The library job could turn into a paid position. It's good to keep a positive mindset on it. I'm alone too. No worries.
