Messiest person I have ever known…..

I come from a very organized family, my father has always taught us to keep things in place since it’s easier to find and it helps other people in the family if they require, they can find it too. After getting married, I came to a family which is super messy. My husband is also one of them, but he is still organized in many ways, so it isn’t tough in dealing with him. The messiest person is my father-in-law, he has a habit of throwing things here and there, he is clumsy. Plus, he is not someone who keeps the things clean, if he is cooking in the kitchen it’s understood that I need to clean everything around before I start cooking. My husband once mentioned, because of this habit my mother-in-law stopped staying with him on the same floor because she was fed up. Same thing I have heard from my house hold help, she complaints to me all the time about this. But at the age of 75, what could be taught to him…. Plus he is okay with the way he is living. Who is the messiest person you have even known….????

Do you know people who live in mess are often more creative.

I have to agree. But I am watching the same at home with my younger son. He always wanted to make something by his own, end result, messed up everywhere after the works.

Oh may be, but the mess creates issues. Though I can't say that about my Father-in-law.... he isn't some one who is creative, though he appreciates art and literature, but he himself isn't very creative. I have seen his creativity only in cooking though

My younger son does this way. His father is a well organized person and he always try to teach things to this guy, but in vain. I hope he will learn things gradually (he turned 12 now. He helps me in kitchen and he loves to do things with me, but leave the wastes as it is and leave the place. Then I have to work extra to clean those. So I told him many times, don't help me if you want to give me extra works. At times I feel surprise, how he doing things this way even though he is keep on getting clear instructions on how to do things on daily basis. He seems to be 'not caring' but feeling bad on getting scolds. In your father in law's case- please ask him to take rest and no need to work in kitchen.

I panic if I see mess around. My husband loves to have his work desk in mess. If you organize his desk, he panics as he can't find things. Luckily he doesn't do that in other parts of the house. My house is well organized. My husband is otherwise very organized with other things and is cleanliness freak.

@Aansh13 I have found the one with messy work desk are actually very structured and organized in mind. And many creative people are quite messy.

I think it would have to be my bunk mate from my previous work hostel. We did share a room and everything will not be in its original place, lol..but I was okay with that coz I always make it a point to clean up after..

I am not the neatest due to Health problems and some understand but I have had others that instead called me lazy. But I have definitely seen worse. Used to rent a room from a family who never covered or refridgerated food even in the heat of the summer and would even offer food to you. Most the time the kitchen was so so. But the worst was someone who had dishes piled high all over the kitchen, etc and everywhere you looked there was filth etc and garbage piled at least 3 ft high all over his apartment.
