The Pentecost Feast

Today is Pentecost Sunday, the commemoration of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles fifty days after the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus from the dead.
I told my daughter to ask for gifts of wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, fear of the Lord,healing, tongues.These are the important weapons we must have in defense of our God.
The story in John's Gospel narrates feeling a strong wind just as Tongues of Fire came to the apostles, with the Blessed Mother, and immediately, they came out from the hiding room and proclaimed the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Why a feast? That is because the Jews then observed a Harvest Feast they also called Pentecost. People from many countries came to celebrate. Thus, the variety of people were shocked that the apostles spoke their own languages.
Roughly, some three thousand became instant converts. That was the beginning of the Acts of the Apostles.

The Pentecost is my favorite time of Easter. I'm not sure, but there is really something in the Sunday mass that seems to make me feel quite, well different. In Pentecost Sunday, call me weird but I have this mixed feeling like I want to laugh, cry and dance all the same. It's a mix of emotion and my hair stands when the "Come Holy Spirit" prayer is recited.
Maybe the Holy Spirit touched me.

Positive on that. The Holy Spirit did come into your being. Check what gift you received - if you can speak in tongues or heal the sick. Or perhaps you could give counsel to the heartbroken, or spread the Good News in wisdom and understanding. Definitely, your faith has been strengthened. Keep in the service of our Lord. Be an apostle.

@Mamerto32 You will realize your gift sooner or later. You will get to apply your gift in your daily life. Then you will be enjoying the fruits of the Holy Spirit - from Galatians - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. ...

It's been a while since I've been to church, I didn't realize that today was Pentecost. It is storming out so badly this morning (lightning crashing down all over the place) that I don't dare go outside or try to drive anywhere.

Keep safe. Do your best to keep everyone within your responsibility to be safe. Invoke on the Power of the Holy Spirit. When the storm is over, you must be grateful for life, and from this day forward, keep holy our God's day.

Yes, I love Pentecost Sunday because I deeply ask for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I asked for the power to Heal and Tongues before but all the others were given except these two, I am a very grateful recipient.
