Kayli Dallis, 3, is thankful that her older sister Jayla,.10, was at the same swimming pool area along with their aunt in an apartment complex in Atlanta in May when fate struck a near fatal blow to Kayli who despite wearing a floating device around her waist. nearly drowned when her floating tube failed to keep her afloat in the pool since she was near the concrete section of the pool most likely on the shallow side of the pool.
Jayla realized that her younger sister was on the verge of drowning since she was not above the water for a period of two minutes. Jayla was able to grab her younger sister by her hair, then her waist and then managed to grab her to the surface when she used her first aid skills to administer CPR until medical help arrived after a concerned neighbor contacted 911 to report the incident.
By the Grace of God, Jayla managed to survive her near drowning experience thanks to her older sister using CPR since she had no formal training in the past other than seeing it on television.
Daneshia Dallis who is the mother of the two girls is thankful that Kayli was released from the hospital after a two week stay where doctors were doubtful that she would have survived after her near death experience.
Daneshia is telling every parent to watch their children closely at all times when they are at poolside since floating devices do not always work to keep children afloat when they are swimming in a pool.

Jayla is an amazing person who did her part to save her younger sibling from drowning in a swimming pool by making her best effort to save her younger sibling who was in trouble.

Okay, but where was the mother in all of this? It is great a child saved her sister, but we go through this every year. Parents should not rely on just floating devices for their kids, if they are young kids they need to be right in the pool with them not taking their eyes off of them. I just hope the child does not suffer neurological troubles from lack of air.

The mom had a sister to watch over her children. After this close call, I am sure she will watch over children closer from now on.
