Doing things right (???)

While in a public transpo, I saw a Mother and his little cute son (looks like he's 6-7 year old) . The kid was eating a junk food and after he ate I saw him like he's looking for something while holding the empty junk food and after he looks everywhere inside of the transpo he wrinkled the empty junk food then he put it in his pocket. His mother saw him that he put it inside his pocket then her mother hit his hand then her mother get the plastic of empty junk food then she throw it under their sit. So I found out that the kid is looking for a trash can then when he found out that there's no trashcan he put it inside his pocket. I know that it's a trash but it's the right behavior when you don't see a trashcan just hold it for a minute then you can find another trashcan to throw your trash there. I feel a little bit irritated because she's a mother and she should teach her son the right things and do what is right but she just showed to him like it's fine to litter and to throw your trash everywhere if you didn't find a trashcan. Very wrong
