Put Something Important in the Back Seat So You Don't Forget Your Child?

Kids are dying or being harmed because parents, older siblings or babysitters are leaving them in cars. Apparently taking the time to put a child in a car seat isn't enough to make some "adults" remember they have the child with them. "Experts" are suggesting we make sure we put a cell phone, purse, wallet or something else "important" in the back seat. That way, when these "adults" go into the back seat to get their all "important" item, they will be reminded there is a child with them. I say it should be the other way around. If you want to remember to grab your cell phone, purse, wallet or other "important" possession, put it in the back seat with your child. That way when you get your child out of the back seat it will remind you to grab your possession. The fact people are leaving kids in cars is tragic. The fact that "experts" suggest some possession is more important than a child makes me wonder how brain dead and heartless these "experts" are.

The subject of your post is shocking. We say, what can be more important than a child? Yet, for some people, it seems that if they leave their credit card in the car, they can remember they left their child there. Shame!

Exactly! The fact people actually forget their children are in the back seat is awful. The fact "experts" would suggest that something is more important than the child is inhuman. The fact the advice just might work is mind numbing.

@ParaTed2k I have read posts here saying that thee most important thing anyone can do in the world is to earn money. I´d say that, even though we need some to feed and clothe us, the most important thing we have is love. And this is not a corny sentence.

@marguicha Yes, making money is important, but we don't work for money, we work for what we do with the money we make.

Oh that's so alarming!! I agree with your point so much .. we should get reminded of the other things and not our children. I mean - I simply can't forget my kid when I'm getting down or I'm afraid I should never be like that what-so-ever. This just reminds me of the statement - " we should love people & use things and not the other way round "

Oh dear. That is such a sad suggestion... implying that your child in the back seat is apparently not as important as all those other material things mentioned...
