I am completely new to the online discussion boards., unless you count Facebook. I can't wait to meet some new and interesting friends. I am from the Southeast United States. I enjoy movies, books, video games, riding roller coasters, etc... I am a sci-fi geek who also likes camping. My kids and I cosplay for Dragon Con. I'm the weird one in my family but I am also the matriarch so I am generally the one that my dad and sisters go to when they need something. It's a strange life but it is never dull. Let me know the topics you like to discuss!

Welcome to myLot! This is a very friendly site, on the whole, and you should enjoy discussing things with other members. The best way to start is probably with the 'Explore' menu, finding topics which seem interesting, reading what others have posted and responding and commenting yourself. That is probably the best way to get used to the site and to get to know the people who are likely to post interesting topics and who are most active here. I'd recommend, too, that you look at the Community Guidelines and other pages listed under "Help" in the menu on the left under your username. This will give you a good idea of how the site works and what you can (and should not) do here. Almost anything goes here, as you will see. Discussions should be in your own words, of course: just copying and pasting something which is published elsewhere is not allowed (unlike Facebook, which seems to have a more relaxed attitude to that!). You'll find most of the things to avoid in the Guidelines, though.

Feel free to explore and join in on the many, many posts other mylotters have started. As for your own discussions, go ahead with the topics you are interested in. Maybe some posts will be a hit, some misses. In time, you'll figure out what works for you. :) (Oh, and as others have mentioned, do check out the guidelines to see what to avoid.) Happy mylotting!

What subjects interest you? There are many topics that provide for a good discussion. I enjoy discussions on religion and politics, two subjects that can become contentious at times and many avoid.
