Spoiler alerts 2017 Shoreline Of Infinity. The title story of this medicine in the future themed anthology, and the winner of the competition through which the collection was compiled. Though it is very good, I do think other stories in the book are better. Told unusually in the second person point of view, with the voice of the narrator directly addressing the main character with a series of instructions and and answers. The reason for that is that medics have brought her back to life after she has died. Her husband finds her confused, disorientated and frightened and tries instructing her on the training, hygiene and exercise regime needed to look after her and his own demanding role as her carer. Many people protest at her resurrection, and she is shocked by her injuries (she seems to have died in a car crash) when she sees herself in the mirror, though her husband tries to steer her gently away from the mirrors. This avoids being a zombie story. It is about someone coming through a traumatic illness, in this case, death itself. Both of the main characters are treated with sympathy and respect. Clever and haunting. Arthur Chappell

Another one that won't be fiction for long---Well, the characters will always be but not the medical techniques that restore life.

@xander6464 I wouldn't want bringing back in such a dependent state where half he population thinks i'm a freak - they do anyway
