Construction Morning

The neighborhood is filling up with new homes. No more dairy farm behind my house. Have been so upset about this, but nothing I can do but deal with it or move. So for now I am dealing.
Was told there would always be a dairy farm. But I guess the money talks in this situation. If you are offered enough money, you will sell apparently.
Have been trying to plant more trees at the fence line. Fences and trees make good neighbors in my opinion. Many homes on small lots. Not what I pictured as my backyard view. But it is happening all over it seems. Growth happens and with that growth comes construction of homes, lots of homes.
Rant over.. for now.
And you, have you had surprise homes built around you before? Time for some upbeat happy music.

doesn't sound 'npleasant 't all. here'n the u.s. though, 'nless such 'twas protected by laws, they'd drain said swamp 'n sell the land'n parcels to folks 'naware 'f the dangers.

i feel yer frustration, hon. when i'd the need to sell most'f my land, i'd hopes such'd be kept 'ntact. nope, they developed parts, filled'n the playa 'n sold off lots. the same's happened with folks that've passed 's the families 're jest wantin' the funds 'n not the lands. they sell to whome'er offers the most with no care outside 'f their bank balance. i'm now surrounded by folks'n to add 'njury to 'nsult, they chip sealed my ol' dirt road. so now i've basically a highway where these city slickers fly by doin' 80. been dealin' with such the past 8 yrs 'n 'm 'bout ready to jest sell what'd be left'n move elsewhere.
ya jest can't plant 'nough trees nor build 'nough tall fences to block 'em out :(

@crazyhorseladycx Thank you for listening. And you can do the same. That is too bad about the speeders.

It is frustrating and I just have to vent from time to time. Nothing else to do. Oh no you do have a bad situation with the highway. Sorry about that. I know, there are not enough ways to block them. Deal with it or move is all I can too.

We have a nursery along the back and one side of our house. How much land do you have?

@CarolDM Just about what we have 1.25 acres. I hate when they cram houses on small lots.

Sorry they are building more. It happens everywhere now. We used to have a nice woods up the road. There are several house there now. But if someone offered me enough I would take it and run. Of course I want to move someplace warmer anyways.

Oh, no! I can imagine how upset you are. When we bought our land and home in Connecticut, we knew in advance that the woods behind us belongs to a land trust and can never, ever, be cut down or altered in any way. Of course, in Florida, nothing can be built on the water. lol
Your best bet is to put up fences and beautiful tall trees. Just think of all the pretty birds they would attract!

Yes but I have decided to try to make the best of it. That is what you do in life when you can't change the situation. Accept it or move. And I am not ready to move just yet. I have fences and pine trees, planted more back in the fall. You are right, I sit and watch the birds and try to block it out.
