Summertime Top Ten: Summer Breeze (#9)

Hooray for the return of John Roberts! He's back from his vacation, which brought him to my neck of the woods. Hopefully he enjoyed southern hospitality (the southern weather? Not so much, probably.) Here's another song that celebrates the return of summer (come Friday, that is), taken from my list of favorites with "summer" in the title. #9: Summer Breeze - Seals & Crofts Despite my love for harmony, I wasn't a big Seals & Crofts fan. The opening of the live video linked below will explain why: when Dash Crofts comes in he sounds like an off-key Bee Gee. Ah, but I love this song. It's so summer and 70s and soft rock. It's not my favorite Seals & Crofts song (that would go to 1975's "I'll Play for You"), but it really echos all the things we love about summer. And if this is too mellow for you I'll rock things up a little tomorrow.
