Why the past seems more enjoyable

As we age, we sometimes look back to the past. Mostly our mind travels back to the happy time. I had a few friends in the past. We were always together where ever we went. I would usually go back home almost midnight and my mom would open the door. I feel I had no burden then. This doesn't mean that I regret being in the present time. I am happy as I have two daughters and my wife. It is so sad when I think what would become of me without them. What about you? Does your mind sometimes flash back to the past? Who do you remember well that lived in the past?

Yes the best parts are almost the same--when we were kids. Can't forget jumping into the river.

The past is our trace of life but we cannot get back to the trace. It's my thought only.

@yanzalong yes of course no one can do that. Life is meant to be lived forward. We can bring forth the experiences and the lessons learned though.

It may be or it may be not enjoyable. But most enjoyable pasts are good to reminisce. I have written about my high school sweetheart 50 years ago. It's still in my mind on how I courted her. She's now my wife. We've been married for 42 years now.
