Day 3
1 John 3
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore, the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man who hath this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sins hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He who commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he who loves not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He who loves not his brother abides in death.
15 Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 But whoso hath this world’s good, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
21 Beloved, if our heart condemns us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he who keeps his commandments dwells in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
The overriding theme of the Bible is love, love for each other and love for God. You see this from Genesis to Revelation. God loves you and you are to love God.
John showed that those who don’t have love, don’t know God, and hate lives in him. Love and hate cannot live in the same person.
People who say they love God, then speak evil about various people they know, including those of their family, are not abiding in the love God showed us and Jesus and John said would be evident to those around us that we are Christians.
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (KJV)
It’s a new commandment, and yet it’s an old one to love one another.
As Christians, it’s important that you love not only those you know, but those you don’t know. When you show people you care about them, they will see the love of God in action in your lives.
In the age of technology, we live in, we connect to the world. We meet and friend people daily in social media. With that connection, we learn about the person. We relate to him or her, and in so-doing, we find our hearts are knit together in love.
It’s time to take love to the next level. Love as God loved. Love as Jesus loved, who offered Himself as a sacrifice so you could know Him and love Him.
Whom do you love? Have you extended your love?
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for loving me and showing me what love is. Help me to love everyone as You love me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

It tells us here that love is not expressed in words or in tongue. A true love is shown in deed and in truth. Amen.

Amen! God's love is so amazing and when close to Him it's a sympathetic love we feel for everyone-it's incredible.
