Troy Keys is a very lucky man that thanks to the efforts of a New York State Park Police Officer named Bryan Welcher who on vacation in Utah along with his friends Joe Carlson and Matt Huette who were nearby when the kayak that Keys was aboard a kayak was on the "Great Moab" section of the Colorado River capsized.
Keys, 46, admitted that despite his struggles to get back on top of the river were too much for him to handle, he passed out. Keys thought he was a sure goner since he was underwater for a period of 10 t0 15 minutes.
Welcher and his two friends witnessed what happened to Troy when his kayak went under the river since they were close by. .
The trio then took action to rescue Troy from drowning by working together to get him out from under the river and into their boat safe and sound.
Troy is very thankful that Bryan and his friends did their part to save him losing his life on June 6.
