Movie The Ninth Gate..don't waste your time

We just watched a1999 movie called The Ninth Gate.
It starred a very young Johnny Depp as a collector of ancient books. It was supposed to be about a book that pertained to the occult.
It was so stupid, I bet Johnny Depp is embarrassed to admit he was in it.
I know different films appeal to different people, but this one gets two thumbs down from us.
Have you ever seen it?

I have never seen the movie The Ninth Gate. I am more into seeing action adventure movies and some Westerns on the Grit channel.
