Nash County (North Carolina) deputy Captain Allen Wilson believes that God had assigned him to stay with his family a few extra hours last Sunday when he noticed that a group of kids were in the Atlantic Ocean swimming near the shore when a strong rip current carried a young girl who is about 10 or 11 years of age being dragged into the ocean.
Wilson with the assistance of a bystander grabbed a lifeguard ring and a boogie board to go into the ocean in an attempt to rescue the young girl who was tired and not able to swim back to shore.
Captain Wilson was able to save the young girl from being taken away to the ocean as well as himself back to shore.
The mother of the young girl called Wilson a "Hero" for saving the life of his daughter.
Wilson is hoping that one day, someone would repay him his good deed in the future.
Wilson is telling people that the best way to save a life is to have a boogie board and a lifeguard ring to execute these kinds of saves.

Captain Wilson had heard about many drownings in the area. He wanted to prevent another tragic incident from happening which he did a wonderful job to save the child.
