You have got to be kidding me if you love the 1992 Disney film Aladdin and yet to watch the 2019 musical fantasy film version by now. I love the movie for it stays true to the original storyline, except for a few outtakes. If you don't want any spoilers, stop reading from here. In Princess Jasmine's scene in the 1992 film, she was hypnotised by Jafar nearing to the final scene, and the 2019 version does not have that. How she responded to Jafar about being "silent" is also cool, and there was none of that in the 1992 version. In other comments, me thinks the evil parrot of Jafar looked more conniving and convincing in the cartoon version. And why does Jafar looks like Drake the rapper? He should have a more menacing look, and perhaps older too. Might as well put Rihanna as Princess Jasmine. OK, just saying. I like the actress playing Jasmine. She's absolutely gorgeous, but I was thinking a Kim Kardashian look-alike or close to it will be the killer role. On the other hand, Aladdin looks quite okay for a street urchin. And later when he becomes Prince Ali of Ababwa, he is looking smart for sure. I love the genie role. Will Smith ain't too over and funny for a genie. He stays original and is certainly fitting for a genie stuck in a lamp and wise enough to give words of wisdom to its Master. Final verdict for this movie will be close to full marks. Will I see it again on theaters? No. Will I buy its DVD? Yes, perhaps. The 1992 version is ace, but this one is a refreshing one yet. Enjoy the movie, folks.
