I found an interesting article about Central Park in New York City it has become home to raccoons, starlings, and of course, the exotic animals found in the Central Park Zoo. What else has happened is the there has been an Eastern gray squirrel explosion and you can come across 2,373 of them throughout the park. To get the information and find out where the squirrel liked to hang out, how they looked, behaved, and reacted to people a squirrel census was taken. So if you want to see lots of squirrel while in Manhattan just head on over to Central Park and don’t forget to take a bag of peanuts with you. As you can see in the photo New York City is a great place for squirrels they even get bagels. I am sure it might not be good for them to overeat but what joy. How many of you have been to Central Park? You can read more about the squirrels here. https://www.6sqft.com/the-strange-story-of-how-nyc-went-from-one-lone-squirrel-to-an-exploding-population-of-obese-rodents/

I enjoy feeding squirrels unless they are eating my garden. I doubt if I'll ever get to Central Park. I'd like to see it, but I'd rather skip the city that surrounds it. I'm a country girl and I hate being in a big city.

Than NYC is not for you because out on the street most of the time you are shoulder to shoulder with other people @bagarad

@RasmaSandra That's why I'm likely to never go back for another visit to NYC or Chicago or San Francisco. Look for me on a beach, in the mountains, in a forest, or in a vineyard or small town.

I've never been to Central Park. I wish people wouldn't feed the squirrels; and if they do, don't feed them bagels and that kind of stuff! Unsalted nuts, please!

All the trash cans are always full of thrown away food so its easy for them to get to it @LindaOHio no one can stand watch over the squirrels.

@RasmaSandra It's a shame that they get used to going through the trash. It's not good for them.

I have not been to Central Park in New York City but I can imagine seeing a lot of squirrels there.

I haven't seen a squirrel in person. I have just seen it in picture and in movies. It's good in Central Park. The squirrels are conserved. They don't become endangered.

That is true but they get too fat eating all the food the people throw out and that is a problem @Nakitakona

@RasmaSandra In that case food throwing should be regulated or else the squirrels will get sick for over feeding.
