I have to tip my hat to the Las Vegas Nevada City Council for changing the law that will allow anyone who cannot pay for their parking fines with money by purchasing new school supplies that will be going to the not for profit group called the Public Education Foundation. The law was passed on June 19. The law states that a person who does not want to pay the fine with their own pocket money will be required to buy new school supplies that equal the amount of the fine within 30 days. The City Council in Las Vegas has decided to make the law of paying a parking fine by buying school supplies permanent today. The only exception of the school supply purchase is if the parking violation endangers the safety of the public. I like the idea of money being used to buy school supplies to pay off a debt that equals the amount of the fine since the schools need all of the basic supplies that they need these days.

Oh my goodness, I love that! Even though it is kinda sad that cities cannot provide more funding to schools to be able to provide more supplies at schools. Hmm, well at least no matter what the students benefit from this.

I did not know that school supplies are in short supply in a lot of schools in America. It is nice to see the City Council of Las Vegas to come up with a way to assist the teachers with the new law.

@Deepizzaguy LA teaches went on strike, not because they wanted a raise, they were tired of having to buy supplies out of their own pocket. There is some poor schools out there. My town they are wealthy, we make schools while others close down due to being run down. Last time I was laughing because hearing all these schools complaining they need rebuilding or getting closed my city was making a brand new one top of the line. I see why some love money so much.

@crossbones27 True happiness being rich is when you assist others in need and not preach to the lower classes of people how to live. I did not know that teachers strikes were due to lack of school supplies to be given to their students since I attended schools in the Canal Zone in Panama where these kinds of stories did not exist back in the 1970s.

Whoever came up with that proposal should be commended. It's a wonderful way to get school supplies to needy students.

@Deepizzaguy Every year the Boys and Girls Club has a day for kids to get what they need. They have everything they need and the kids can 'go shopping' at the club for everything they need. I think they have clothes too.

Las Vegas is taking steps to clean up its Sin City image. I did not know that schools in America have problems with teachers not having supplies to give to their students.

I love that! I would also support putting that money towards students with lunch debt.

I did not know that schools in America did not have school supplies to give to the student body.

@Deepizzaguy Since public schools are free, families are expected to buy their own pencils, paper, and such. Schools supply a lot, but not everything.

My pleasure to share good news on this site since the majority of news stories on television are just horrible in nature.
