I Forgot Day
1962 - The first Walmart, then known as Wal-Mart opens for business in Rogers, Arkansas.
2001 - The AbioCor self-contained artificial heart is first implanted.
1961 - Ernest Hemingway takes his own life. He was an American novelist, short story writer, journalist and Nobel Prize laureate that was born in 1899. His most famous books: Sun Also Rises, For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Old Man and the Sea.
1993 - Fred Gwynne passes away. He was an American actor that was born in 1926. In the 1960s he starred in Car 54, Where Are You? He also played Herman Munster on The Munsters. Movies: Cotton Club, Pet Sematary, My Cousin Vinny.
