Have You Caught a Dragonfly?

How many dragonflies could you catch with your two fingers?
This question has prompted me to raise for I happened to see the two Girl Scouts in front of the former school division office.
I stopped for a moment, observing them. They had several times but failed to catch one or two.
Dragonflies have so many eyes and they're quick to respond to a minute movement around them, but they stay put when they're busy sipping dews from the leaves of the plants.
Do you have any technique in doing it without trapping or killing the insects?
Lesson: Catching a dragonfly needs patience and alertness.

Yes, when I was a kid we used to catch dragonflies and fireflies in the evening. I miss the good ol' days. In front of our house in the Philippines was a vacant lot with an abundant shrub. Usually, during afternoons dragonflies and butterflies hover around that area. We, kids in the neighborhood, would play or catch as many dragonflies as we could. Here, in Korea, I can see dragonflies in the soccer field but not as many as I used to see back during the old in the Philippines.

That's a good recollection of the past. It's too nostalgic.

I have never tried, to catch one, I don't think I would like the way it feels.

@CookieMonster46 When we catch the dragonflies we're not using net. We catch them by our own two bare fingers, the thumb and pointer fingers.

If you could catch one, you'll know how it feels.

@Nakitakona They light up in the dark and creates a blink. You can only see them when they light up. Very cool.

@kareng We call them "ipot-ipot" in our dialect if you're referring to fireflies.

I really miss this insect. I can hardly find it anymore in our place. Probably you said in the farm there are still many of them there.

It's too challenging fo we never used any net to trap them, but we used our fingers to cstch it by their tail or wings.

Same with us here. But when we're yet kid, there were so many. It seems now that they're endangered.
