Day 7
Revelation 3:7
Revelation 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things says he who is holy, he who is true, he who hath the key of David, he who opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them who dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man takes thy crown.
12 Him who overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13 He who hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches.
People look up everything they can about celebrities and those in positions of authority, looking for any dirt they can to hold it against them. Seldom do they find a person of impeccable reputation where they can’t hang even a small misdemeanor. When they find a person like that, they say much about their character and their lifestyle. One such person was the evangelist, Billy Graham.
Jesus revealed more of His character to the church at Philadelphia. He is holy, true, has the key of David, and shuts doors no one can open and opens doors no one can close. In revealing His character in such a manner to the church at Philadelphia, He told them He knew everything about them and how true and faithful they were to Him. Because of their faithfulness, He put an open door before them that no one could close. He also told them, everyone including those belonging to Satan would know God loves them and can’t touch them but would bring accolades before them.
The city of Philadelphia exists today as the city of Alasehir in Turkey. It is known as the city of him who loves his brother. (Wikipedia)
As Christians, you are to strive to be as faithful as Philadelphia in your walk in Jesus Christ. You are to show compassion and love for those around you. If one man can do it, everyone who calls themselves a follower of Jesus Christ can exemplify the traits found in Philadelphia. Then doors will open. Favor will come your way from every direction and no one will shut off that favor.
You will be a pillar among men with Jesus’ name written on your life along with the city of New Jerusalem and a new name. With Jesus’ favor on your life, no one will say anything against you.
Do you have this measure Jesus’ favor on you? Do people look at you as a pillar of faith?
Let’s pray: Father, help me remain faithful in You, a person of integrity. Let Your favor be found in me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

We're not a pillar of faith but we keep our faith and nurture it.
