Renting VS Buying

There are companies that prefer renting vehicles to buying them. At the end of the projects all rented vehicles have to be returned to the owners. My question is why didn't the company buy the vehicles instead of renting them? I am sure there must be profitable reasons for their renting the vehicles. Some cars are owned but for project use, they prefer rented cars.

It's good to have car rentals when you're on vacation, especially when you're flying to your destination.

they can save a lot. no need to pay for the insurance, no need pay for its maintenance, repair and the stuff you need to pay for your employee.

It's less expenses when you rent a heavy equipment to do a project than to buy it, then you're not going to use it anymore.
