Day 12
Revelation 6:3-4
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him who sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
One thing everyone on earth wants is peace. However, peace is rare as war takes place in many areas of the world.
Seal two. Jesus showed John what the next seal revealed. Another horse, this one red, signified war. Jesus is the rider. We know this because God gave all power to the rider.
Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (KJV)
As the Son of God, Jesus had the power to bring judgment to all those who refused the salvation He offered in the first judgment by bringing war to the earth. War not like we have today in various spots around the world, but war between every person who didn’t accept Jesus’ offer of salvation.
If you accepted Jesus’ offer of salvation before the Tribulation began, God’s judgments of the earth will not affect you. However, if you accept Jesus’ offer of salvation after the Tribulation begins, you could lose your life in the judgment of war. However, in losing your life for the gospel, you will not reap the rewards of death and hell reserved for those who refuse salvation, but your reward is in heaven.
Matthew 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (KJV)
The exchange is death if you refuse Jesus’ offer of salvation, or life if you accept it. Jesus as the horseman of war knows whether you value your life and reject the gospel, or value the gospel and accept eternal life. You can’t have it both ways.
Will you wait to decide your eternal destiny until the Tribulation, or will you accept Jesus’ offer of salvation now and not take part in God’s judgments on the earth?
No one knows when the day will come when Jesus raptures the church to Himself and brings Tribulation to the earth. There is only one judgment for those who refuse Jesus’ salvation, eternal separation from Him in Hell.
Let’s pray: Father, You provided the opportunity for salvation to every person with the death and resurrection of Your Son. Turn men’s hearts to the gospel of Jesus Christ, so they will avoid the judgment of the second horseman and receive eternal salvation with You in heaven. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
