Early in the morning my wife woke me up and reminded that it's the 47th birthday of our eldest son who lives in our other island region in our country. I didn't waste time to send him a birthday greetings in messenger and another follow up in text message. We're hoping that he's happy receiving our messages. His mother greeted him in his FB wall. The other day I received a picture of ampalaya (bitter melon) or amargoso in our dialect, is 15 cm long. It's one of the vegetable fruits grown in our son's garden. Amargoso is one of our favorite vegetable fruits. We slice it into small pieces and saute it with eggs. One serving is good for three persons. It has been said it is good herbal medicine.
Ampalaya or bitter melon is a herbal plant popular for its bitter taste but contain medicinal properties and numerous health benefits to the body.

@db20747 It's different from zucchini which has a soft skin covering. Ampalaya has a rough, rugged skin.

@rakski That's great. Actually the bitter taste of that vegetable is not too strong. Isn't it?

I enjoy eating bitter melon. I like to make bitter melon soup and I put stuffed pork inside. Sometimes chop this up and sauté with eggs as well. Happy Birthday to your eldest son and I hope he responds to the messages!
