Troubleshooting Computers

First of all I want to say "ugh" because I am using my phone and the ads are horrible, makes it difficult to use this site. Anyway, for the reason i'm using my phone is because my son got on the desktop computer last night and I don't know what happened, but it did something and now my computer won't start up. So I went to the screen to see if I could get the computer to repair itself and it couldn't. The screenshot I'm sharing I think would be my next option, but I want someone who knows more than I to let me know what this will do exactly. From my understanding, resetting the PC, all personal files (including desktop pictures and download software? ) will not be effected, but it will reinstall windows. Is that correct? NOTE: like I said, i'm on my phone and when I submitted this, there was an error. The text went through, but from what I could tell, the picture did not. To make it clear what i'm asking about, the next option says this: "Reset this PC Let's you choose to keep or remove your personal files, and then reinstall Windiws."

Resetting the computer, many things will.happen. I am afraid your files would be affected unless they're stored to another drive other than drive C. But if you're is unable to start, there's no need to reset it. You may try the safe mode. If you can't do it, bring it to the computer shop for the technician to handle it.

Actually, I wanted my son to look at it, because he built it, but my husband insists on getting this guy to look at it. I was really hoping it was something I could fix, and I did use safe mode with no results.

@Nakitakona I did open it in safe mode and did a system restore, but not a reset. My husband took it to this guy to look at, even though I wanted my son to look at it because he was the one who built it.

You know I don't know much about computer. However when I run across a problem with my desktop computer ,I would search it online with my laptop or smartphone ,more often than not I got advice on how to deal with it.Calling up a technician was my last resort.

@changjiangzhibin89 I'm not sure how long it will take this guy, he is pretty busy. So for now I am using my old laptop that is super slow and only gets sound once in a while.

I don't have the money to pay someone. My oldest son actually built it for me, but he's so busy. I heard he might stop by today, I am hoping he can figure it out.

@paigea I've done that and I hate it, because some sites don't allow me to multi-task on my phone
