Spoilers A great series with a disappointing finale. Even trying to shoehorn in a utopian finale this still came across as pretty downbeat. I'm not shooting you, just me, oh, I can't do it. I'll just shoot this git instead. The family playing its part in the revolution went rather too easy. The destruction of the transmission block tower was in every trailer so rather obvious it was coming. In an earlier episode Viv shut down every phone and recording devise with a pen (sonic screwdriver) sized gadget. Now it takes a full metal tower. The concentration camp escape was reminiscent of Gwen trashing the Welsh camp in an episode of Torchwood. Viv got little to do - the opening borrowing of Trump's best known soundbites, fake news, enemy of the people, etc then she isn't seen until her arrest which are told might be a lookalike - this made little real sense. The prospect of another puppet PM was more credible. Then there is the AI Galifreyan Matrix thought transfer and long drawn out speech on family love teaser where we get a Sopranos finale style frustrating as hell fade out before we know if it works or not. The medics / IT techs being new empathetic characters we are expected to take in at the last minute. It was going for A Handmaid's Tale (novel) style after it was all over epilogue effect but it just doesn't work, and the gran appears to be immortal without becoming virtual anyway. I found it a rather anti-climatic - loved the speech about £1 tee shirts and not protesting when automated tills took over - I already refuse to be served by non human shop assistants. Was that and indie, made it sound like one but did sound interesting. I cannot stand when you hear a great description of flick or show and its is 2.0 out of 10. Bad acting, bad production. I get amateur but make it sound crappy like it is

There are so few television series that go out with a great last episode. I think the series finale of MASH ruined it for everyone

TV series part one was usually a success. Part two and so on were only boring ones.

@LindaOHio basically a look at one family over the next 15-20 years, taken year by year as right wing politicians take over, automation takes jobs, immigratiion gets out of control, the banks collapse, etc

It's too disgusting for a bad story ending. I have watched it once or twice in our local TV series episodes for a long season. Why it ends that bad?

@arthurchappell That's right. It's probably done in a hurry.
