Respect???

Interesting... it seems some people who shall remain nameless (Trump supporters), do not actually know what the word respect means. Okay, school is in session. Logic 101: definition of respect - a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements. Respect is a feeling that evokes respectable behavior in the admirer. When I respect someone, I naturally act respectful towards them because they have earned my respect. Ergo, the person with a title or position of power does not automatically receive respect; the occurrence of one (respect), is not dependent or conditional on the occurrence of the other (title). That person must actually act respectfully first. Furthermore, to say a person who does not respect their president, does not love their country is a syllogistic fallacy. One can love and respect their country AND, at the same time, not respect their president because these are mutually exclusive stances. Feel free to share this with someone who needs to be schooled
