Sloths are shaggy looking animals that make their home in the forests of South and Central America. In the English language, the word sloth was used to refer to “sluggishness” and “laziness” in the 12th century. Amazing as it might seem in Christian tradition sloth is considered to be one of the seven deadly sins, It was in the 1800s that it became the name for this animal. Sloths are known for being slow and spend most of their time hanging in trees in the rainforest. So the new sloth emoji is going to be used to symbolize taking it easy or just hanging out on social media posts.
