Day 25
Revelation 12
Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knows that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
There’s a lot of symbolism in this chapter of what took place and what will take place and with whom it will take place.
The woman clothed with the sun is Israel. The twelve stars on her head are the twelve tribes of Israel. The moon is the earth where Israel dwells. She was pregnant with the Son of God.
The Red Dragon is Satan who waited for her child to be born so he could kill it as soon as she bore it. However, God protected the child through His life and as soon as Jesus bore the sin of every person who ever lived and would live, He went back to heaven where He intercedes for all those who accept Him as Savior and Lord.
John then saw what took place at the beginning of time, when God created the world – the war in heaven between Lucifer and a third of the angels who rebelled with him. God cast him out of heaven along with the angels, known as the fallen angels.
Until the Tribulation, Lucifer would not only tempt every person on earth, but he was given the ability to go back to heaven and accuse the brethren before God day and night. During the Tribulation, God will cast Lucifer out of heaven permanently. He will never tempt mankind again as he will be sentenced to his final destination and all those who overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of His testimony will live and reign with Jesus Christ.
God protected Israel from the time He chose them as His people. During the Tribulation, He will protect all those who accept Him as Savior and Lord in Petra, a place chosen by God because of its impregnability to attack.
The flood of water always refers to people. Satan would pursue God’s people from the moment He chose them as His people until the end of the Tribulation when God will cast him into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone for eternity.
Because Satan will not overcome Israel or those who accept Jesus as Savior and Lord, he will go to battle against the Lamb one last time in the Battle of Armageddon. Jesus will defeat him in the final battle and God will cast him into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
As Christians, you have the blood of the Lamb covering you and Word of Jesus’ testimony in you. With it you can defeat Satan. He is powerless before both.
Have you used the power in you to defeat Satan when he tempts you?
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for Your Word that lives in me. Bring to mind Your Word when temptation comes my way. Help me defeat Satan in my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

@just4him It is a lot more than mythology, but there is a lot of mythology in it. That is not to say that it is without value - far from it. Every society, ancient and modern, has its myths, and we can gain an awful lot when we understand the myths.
The mistake that is made too often is to confuse myth with history.

You're right thst Satan is powerless if we have the strong testimony about Jesus Christ.
