1829 - In the United States, William Austin Burt patents the typographer, a precursor to the typewriter.
1903 - Ford Motor Company sells its first car.
1961 - Woody Harrelson was born. He is an American actor, playwright, actor and activist. In 1985 he gained popularity as Woody Boyd in the TV show Cheers. Some of his movies: White Men Can't Jump, Natural Born Killers, The People vs. Larry Flynt, Zombieland, The Messenger, 2012, The Hunger Games series, Now You See Me series, War for the Planet of the Apes, Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Highwaymen.
1967 - Philip Seymour Hoffman was born. He was a theater and movie actor, director and producer. He was well known for his character roles: Boogie Nights, Big Lebowski, Almost Famous, Along Came Polly, Capote, Charlie Wilson's War, Twister, Mission Impossible III, Hunger Games series and Jack Goes Boating. He died in 2014.
