She was an American pilot and author. She was the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many records and wrote many best-selling books about her experiences. During an attempt to fly around the world in 1937 Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean. 1946 - Gallagher is an American comedian and prop comic.
