It’s Stood the Test Of Time

I think there has to be something said, about a church that was established in 1854, without even a “proper” church building until the 1860’s to have survived all these years, especially at a time when we see many churches fold. That is not to say there haven’t been tough times at one point there were only a couple of women keeping the doors opened for a time, but the Church grew and flourished once more, with members who go above and beyond, feeding the hungry, helping others out, a Church like this is truly a blessing! Last November when The Camp Fire abrubpted destroying so much our church raised about $12 thousand in a week which may not sound like much but for a small church whose members are about 95 percent retirees on a fixed income that says a lot!

That's quite an accomplishment for a small church.

Are you at risk for fires over in Sonora as well? You're mostly East of me. My friends in Paradise are Northeast of me.

Yes unfortunately we are, do you remember the Rim Fire in 2013? It was really bad, friends were evacuated from their homes!

Bless your congregation for you are the Church. The church is just the building where the Church meets.

That is an amazing story of a church that has been around for 165 years and counting.
