Today's topic being, of course, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-Worthy Acts (in my opinion, which is the only opinion that actually matters. Just kidding. Feel more than welcome to disagree with me, but you're wrong. Just kidding 2.0.) These are in no particular order, but we are at #4: Joe Jackson. British musician/composer Joe Jackson has been at it for a long, long time (since 1970.) Jackson's love of music happened quite by accident, when, in his youth, he joined a school violin class as a means to avoid physical education classes, and found that he actually enjoyed it. After switching to piano, Jackson began, at age 16, playing in bars, and then studied, on a scholarship, music composition at London's Royal Academy of Music. Over the course of his career, Joe Jackson has released 19 studio albums, and has pretty much done whatever he's felt like doing, easily moving from new wave to swing to blues to pop to jazz to classical. He has one Grammy Award on his shelf, and his 1979 album, Look Sharp, landed on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 100 Best Debut Albums of All Time (#98. The same magazine placed that record's cover at #22 in their 100 Greatest Album Covers of All Time.) So like, what's the holdup? He's a respected musician, for the most part the critics dig him, his body of work is extremely strong, he doesn't keep making the same album over and over and over, and if I need to throw in a few F-Bombs to get the Hall's attention, I'm ready to #@&$!*¿ do so. Jerks. Just kidding (not really. Jerks.) (Info verified by Wikipedia)

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs to get Beat Crazy and get him in there.

I agree with you that Joe Jackson is one of the best artists of our era. He deserves to be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Maybe some of the judges do not like him personally.

Could be. I'm really not sure. He seems to be a pretty nice guy.

@teamfreak16 It is just my opinion that the artist has to be best friends with the persons that have the power to vote them into a hall of fame like in pro sports.

Sure, he's worthy. Probably the worthiest thing is being able to make 19 albums while only having had a couple of "hits". That means he's a good musician, not a flash in the pan, and his fans are devoted.

@teamfreak16 - One of the most arresting first lines of a song ever written has to be "Pretty women out walking with gorillas down my street"

Luckily, he's one of the one's more concerned with writing a good song rather than trying to write a hit. If it becomes a hit, even better! If not, it's still a great song.
