Good things come to those who wait can be the slogan of former U S Air Force pilot William Bowker who is 94 years of age. William who likes to play the Oregon lottery is one lucky man who recently won $6.5 million dollars on the Oregon Game's Megabuck game. William almost made a huge error of throwing away the winning lottery ticket when his granddaughter came to visit him since he asked her to check if he won the grand prize. When William with the help of his granddaughter took a second look at the Megabucks ticket, he was happy as he can be when he found out that he won the $6.5 million dollar grand prize. His error that nearly cost him the grand prize was when the Mega Million ticket was not the winning lottery ticket, the Megabucks ticket had the grand prize. After William accept to take the lump sum of the lottery prize, after paying taxes he will wind up with a prize of $2.2 million dollars which he will share with his family members since William will have enough money from his lottery winning ticket to keep financially secure for the remainder of his life.

that is great, but I wouldn't want people to know I won. Yes, I will help who I want to help and donate to some charity. But I just don't like being asked for money, it seems on a daily basis, people I know have go fund me accts, up and they all need something, I just can't give to everyone, and don't like the pressure. So winning a big prize like this , would have people asking for money.

@Deepizzaguy Yes, that is the case greedy , but not always true, You can only give so much, and you can only help people so much. There are many who like the easy way and will try and get what they can from those who have money.

Winning a huge lottery prize does have its drawbacks from people asking the lottery winner for money outside of the close relatives. If a person refuses to give money to a down in their luck person, they are called greedy.

Wow taxes seems to pretty high from 6.5 to 2.2 after taxes? But anyway I am pretty sure that money will mean something and will leave her family pretty much comfortable I guess for as long as they can manager their money well.

@Deepizzaguy That is true keeping it is harder then spending it. Looks like Oregon is the one who is more happier than the lotto winnner since it is more than half of the winnings he will be getting there.

The tax rate in Oregon is pretty high. I hope that the family members do take care of their lottery winnings since blowing it easier than winning it.

It's nice he is helping his family. I just hope no one tries to pull fast ones on him. I'm happy for him.

I hope that William and his family take care of their ,money since they are likely to encounter some scam artists along the way.
