Hello from a fast food joint with wi-fi in the middle of no-freaking-where, Tennessee! Oh, what my eyes have seen this morning! Incredible beauty. However, I realize I need to finish off my countdown of favorite songs that Don Henley provided backing vocals for. The #2 song, “Hasten Down the Wind” by Linda Ronstadt, is easily my favorite “solo” guest appearance he did. Here (as with many others on the countdown) he appeared with his partner in crime, Glenn Frey, and ooh, do I love the results! #1: Someone’s Been Telling You Stories - Dan Fogelberg What was it about 1974? My favorite Jackson Browne album and my favorite Dan Fogelberg album are both from that year. As I mentioned earlier, Joe Walsh produced Souvenirs, which may have provided the “harder” (okay, harder than normal...this was Dan Fogelberg, after all!) sound that’s on this song. When it came to the backing vocals, the cavalry arrived in the presence of Don Henley and Glenn Frey. They guested on several songs on the album, highlighted by this one. A gem from Fogelberg, and a gem of a backing vocal performance by Henley and Frey. Thanks for reading. Someone’s Been Telling You Stories Written by Dan Fogelberg Recorded by Dan Fogelberg From Souvenirs, 1974 I’m caught in the middle:
Dan Fogelberg - Someone's Been Telling You Stories - (Souvenirs, 1974) With Joe Walsh Producing the LP and Just Ripping on this Tune - Dan Fogelberg - organ,...
