From the "Someone Needs a Good Butt-kicking" Department... McDonald's in the UK and Ireland made the switch from plastic straws to paper ones. Good idea, right? Wrong. You see, the plastic straws they previously used could be recycled, the new paper ones cannot. They end up in a dump somewhere.
